How lovely it was to see this young Whitetail deer on a special nature outing with my son.
We can learn so much from this precious animal as we apply biblical principles. The Whitetail has a great deal of self control in situations it is unsure of. In the wild, this species comes to a complete standstill assessing every possibility before making a single move. With ears strained, its highly attuned sense of hearing, smell and sight detects even the slightest change. Though seeing only black and white, the Whitetail intelligently deciphers shapes~ instantaneously detecting danger. Then up comes the white flag of warning as it bounds away for safety.
So much more can be learned from this highly intelligent animal. Just think how often we mortals leap into situations without carefully praying or waiting upon the Lord for his timing, peace, counsel and conformation as found in the Holy scriptures. How easily disillusioned one becomes as we head down paths without God's blessing. How many times have we all said to ourselves, "It is of the Lord", then later regretful after making inquiries. When will we ever learn?
My husband is very wise in this area to wait carefully upon the Lord. He is an outdoorsman and has spent a great deal of time studying and learning the lessons of the Whitetail. He is not hasty in his decisions and rarely is he caught off guard in this. Last year we again learned the lesson of the Whitetail as God so graciously spared us from falling into an unwise decision that would have cost our family dearly. It is a great lesson to learn as we observe God's creatures and apply biblical principles confirming in context as found in scripture.
Take heart or shall I say "hart", as we all are being challenged by life's lessons. Yet, God is gracious to work all things together for our good, to those who love him and are called according to his purpose. We are all given many opportunities to grow and mature~Praise The Lord.
You may ask yourself~ if you are one of those who are being "called according to his purpose". I believe that if you have a desire in your heart to know this, it is an indicator that you are being called. Jesus says that he stands at the door (of our heart) and knocks. Let him in right now and allow him to be Lord of your life? Jesus does not give up on us as we sincerely seek him. When we ask his forgiveness and allow him to be the Lord of our lives, we will find ourselves like a deer, bounding with a newness of life knowing we are now set free from the shackles of sin.
Do you feel ensnared by life's choices? You just can't seem to get free from those frustrating consequences. It pulls and weighs upon your very soul. Jesus promises to set us free. That does not mean that our circumstances will change but our hearts will be through them, as we let go and turn everything over into the Lord's hands . Those who Christ sets free, are free indeed! But we need to trust in his word~ the bible and believe in our hearts that Christ died on the cross for sins, that he was raised from the dead three days later and now sits at the right hand of God the Father. When we yield our hearts, trusting Jesus as our Savior and Lord, the biblical promise is set in motion and the plan for your life begins anew. The slate of sin is wiped off the board of your life and you become a new creature in Christ. All this is easily found in the bible and a good beginning~ is to read the book of John in the New Testament.
For those who are believers and are suffering from the hasty decisions of life, just remember Christ shakes the dust off our knees and lifts us up through our repented prayer. We are given new hope and a refreshed spirit. We need to walk in gratefulness with humility, remembering Christ's kind mercy and immeasurable love. Jesus promises never to leave us or forsake us and he is faithful and just to forgive us.
Thank you Lord, for we could never fathom such unmerited grace. It is too great to imagine.
Encourage the exhausted, and strengthen the feeble. Say to those with anxious heart, "Take courage, fear not Behold, your God will come with vengeance; The recompense of God will come, But He will save you." Then the eyes of the blind will be opened and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped. Then the lame will leap like a deer, And the tongue of the mute will shout for joy. For waters will break forth in the wilderness and streams in the Arabah.
