Glorify God In All You Do!

(Our daughter~ Miss Seanna Hollinger (L) and Mrs. Elizabeth Humphrey (R) photography by Mrs. Lisa Hollinger)

I have been very edified by Susan Bradrick's tape "24 hours is all you get". It has helped me reorganize my time and look at how much I should allot even in "good things". One of those areas is in completing a wonderful video our family is Producing called "Garments Of Praise".
The past month, a great deal of time was spent catching up on personal, business and home from some recent trips. While my daughter has been away ministering to her Grandmother's needs, I have taken over her position in our homebased businesses. Now that I am entering a new phase, I need to spend my extra time working on these lofty endeavors.
Garments of Praise was filmed to encourage women that they too can glorify God in modest, praiseworthy apparel. The goal is to take the focus off of self and the temptation to buy into the modern trends, which blur the line of gender. Many of 'Today's" fashions dishonor our Lord with immodest, muddied designs, spiritually pulling down those around us. It is our desire to lift up, as we share ways to honor God in "all we do". Not through the purchase of expensive outfits but by living within the boundries and blessings of our homes. Many of the garments were made for under $10.00.
It is our hope to edify families with an avenue for change. Wearing modest, uplifting apparel expresses God's joyful beauty in our femininity to those around us.
I have so enjoyed sharing my life and thoughts on this lovely blog. I hope in future to be able to post again. Until that happens, I will be limited in my responses. By setting these additional timeslots aside to focus on added responsibilities and our video, I pray will give better opportunity to market it this year on the www.ladiesagainstfeminism.com and other places.
Please pray for our family and those involved in this project that we will complete a beautifully inspiring video that honors God technically, spiritually and every possible way.
I pray the Lord will bless you as you visit this site now and in the future. May you rest in knowing Christ's great love for you and find peace as you trust your life into His hands.

I Met God In The Morning

(photography by Mrs. Lisa Hollinger)
The Secret

I met God in the morning
When the day was at its best.
His presence came like sunrise,
Like a glory within my breast.

All day long His presence lingered,
All day long He stayed with me;
And we sailed in perfect calmness
O'er a very troubled sea.

Other ships were blown and battered,
Other ships were sore distressed;
But the wind that seemed to drive them,
Brought to us a peace and rest.

Then I thought of other mornings
With a keen remorse of mind,
When I too, had loosed the moorings,
With His presence left behind.

So I think I know the secret,
Learned from many a troubled way;
You must seek God in the morning,
If you want Him through the day.

I've been doing a lot of organizing lately, sort of a spiritual "Spring cleaning". I am greatful for wise believers who have successful track records of overcoming in Christ that we can glean from. One such Christian who I have greatly admired over the years is Mr. George Muller. The "Secret" behind his amazing triumph over incredible obsticles is shared in his biography. This amazing brother fed thousands of orphans daily by faith, sharing only with the Lord his tremendous needs. God faithfully blessed his work and met every supplication.
He claims with humility, his secret was simply a proper utilization of scriptural principles as God taught him. With that I am trying to pattern myself to be "Happy in the Lord" through scripture reading, until I receive my daily Manna. It is also my desire to not have a "Will of my own" as Mr. Muller put it. By seeking diligently any area of my life not fully submitted to the Lord and exchange my weakness for Christ's grace, trusting it is not my efforts but God working His perfecting plan in and through me. ~This is my hope, this is my prayer~

God Designed Living

"High Tea at Moni Mi". A recent photo of Seanna (ctr) with her friends~Mrs. Lillibeth Humphrey(L) & Mrs. Lydia Sherman (Lady Lydia)(R).

"Several years ago our 18 year old daughter Seanna (Sea-Anna) became very ill from a tick bite which put her life at risk. Seanna became very weak, thin, and barely able to function. This very healthy, strong amazing Proverbs 31 type daughter who had her whole life ahead of her~ could now hardly sit up, take a shower or walk. Seanna also had problems breathing. She would wake up daily between 3-5 a.m. gasping for air, struggling all day to breathe and sometimes loosing her sight. She went from doctor to doctor and to emergency rooms (into the wee hours of the morning) without any relief. I remember many nights helping Seanna to bed as she would tell me

“Mom, If I don‘t wake up tomorrow, it‘s alright, I am ready for the Lord“.

...This was our life.

The medical community could not help her. The medicines made her worse and almost accidentally killed her. We learned later that traditional doctors did not understand this disease and gave her the wrong medicine*A Neurologist who treated this illness, told us that the medicine the traditional doctors gave Seanna for her particular problem kills patients within 2 months.

"kills... patients within 2 months!"

As we cried out to God, He directed us into natural Alternative Medicine. Like any avenue of change, we needed to balance it with God’s word and glean only what was biblically sound. We were given a plan for healthy living~ resulting in great blessings and rewards for our family. Due to our daughter’s health risks, we had to eat 100% organic foods, substituting many items while cooking everything from scratch. Much time was spent praying for ways to wisely adjust all my cooking skills as I desperately tried to figure it all out. After a while, I learned to creatively make her foods that she could eat that were similar to ours, so she did not feel left out as the rest of the family ate meals we enjoyed (though organic too). Example: Seanna's could not have tomatoes or cheese at that time besides a long list of other things. I had come up with delicious alternatives so she could have the same menu when we ate pizza, spaghetti, chili etc…. If someone asks me now how I did it, I just remember it was God's Spirit teaching me, for I cooked as the Lord lead me without recipes but by feel and not memory. Many substitutes were inspired. Never could have dreamed them up myself.

My greatest challenge along with the above was in preparing for a Vision Forum Father/Daughter retreat my husband and daughter wanted to go to. Though Seanna was stronger physically by then, I still had to plan and cook all the organic meals ahead of time to take in coolers as she would be traveling by car and staying in hotels. My husband and daughter were to stay at a hotel for the entire event. God gave me creative foods for all her meals, alternative organic sugar free ice cream for a BBQ and even a special natural dessert without sugar for the High Tea that they were having-so she could participate. At that time she couldn't even eat some of the boxed, frozen, canned organic foods. I could not use regular recipes as she would have serious breathing problems and food had to be cooked from scratch with many substitutes. Permission was even granted from the hotel to allow our daughter to eat her meals at their banquet with their nice dishes, so she could still participate and hear the speakers. It was a real joy for her to finally participate in something special after being mostly in bed for over a year. Seanna said all the meals were so delicious. P.T.L.!!

If I had not had a lot of practice making home cooked meals already, I would have had a serious problems adjusting including risking serious breathing episodes if my daughter ate the wrong foods. God's loving guidance, good Alternative Medicine along with home cooked organic food worked together in her healing. Now she is 21 years old and tests results from her original diagnosis, state she is completely healed!

Her doctors in Texas call her "A Walking Miracle".

*Many who know Seanna can attest that she is now very active and healthy as can be. The past year she was skiing, sailing, iceskating, playing tennis, intensive Proverbs 31~training in Texas and in ongoing Alternative Medicine with her family in Mexico including hiking many mountains. Seanna is currently in Oregon ministering as she applies the lessons she learned in Alternative Medicine to her Grandmother who is suffering from Cancer.

If anyone needs encouragement that wholesome home cooked meals along with good Alternative Medicine works- you can recommend this blog and our family to them if they would like to contact us.

Seanna is now living life to the fullest, with much humor. We haven't thrown what we have learned away and still try to be careful. Though Seanna can eat anything now, we still lean towards organic as much as possible as we have learned that the chemicals are detrimental to our health. Even the best fruits, vegetables are sprayed and have genetically modifications causing diseases and lowered immune systems. We women need to educate ourselves and go back to becoming gleaners of good things. We need to learn wise ways to save on these alternatives foods, become sensitive to Christ’s menu plan for “Our particular family” and be creative within our kitchen‘s.

We do not realize that there is more here at stake then "Steak"!

You will save your family 10's of thousands and perhaps 100's of thousands of dollars in health care. You will minister longer lives and healing to your children and children's, children while giving additional protection to the generations. Health conscientious home cooked meals do make a difference, along with educating our families in God designed living; we can pass these skills on to our daughters as they become excellent women of faith".

She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
