Springtime Modest Tea

Glory, Glory said the bee, hallelujah said the flea,
Praise the Lord remarked the wren,

At Springtime all is born again!

Isn’t that true! Springtime is one of my favorite times of year. Everything is budding and blooming, all the birds have flown in from their winter’s travels and the little creatures are scurrying, making all kinds of chitterchatter telling us life has begun again.

In this class we talked about being “born again” and blooming into women who Glorify God in our hearts and in our outward expression.

We began with inner purity
”Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments”, but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness”. 1 Timothy 2: 9-19
(Miss Johanna Sodeberg listens attentively)
Modesty begins from the
“inside out”
Purity of heart, spirit and body all affect the way we feel and how we live our lives. When we are fully surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ, purity is expressed in our attitudes, conversations and communicated through our apparel. As we look to scripture, our values, views and beliefs need to align with the word of God.
(Miss Faith Anne)
Men from all over the country were asked this question and their answers were quiet fascinating to read. Women do not always understand a young man’s heart or how he views what true modesty or beauty is to him. In our class, we encouraged women to care more about their brothers in Christ and to help them be all they are meant to be as godly men. Though men are accountable for the choices they make, we must keep from excusing our ignorance or lack of concern in the area of personal modesty. We must be just as responsible for our own actions and not cause our brothers to stumble. We must also educate ourselves to respectfully honor the differences between men and women.

Historical Review

Where there was once clarity, today’s unisex fashion’s blur the lines of distinction and our understanding. Studying designs from the past, helps us realize these changes. Women lost their high position of men’s admiration when purity of heart, mind and body was cast aside. Women have been led astray believing that a hardened, sensual heart attracts the “love of their lives” when in fact just the opposite is true.

A virtuous, modest woman is a rare jewel men prize above all others.

For centuries valiant acts to win such a treasure have been noted. These revered women are cherished through art, song and knightly acts. When women are feminine, they encourage the men around them to rise up to their full potential and bring out their very best. The more a woman blurs the lines of male and female, the more she defeats her own secret dream of finding “real love” with an honorable, praiseworthy, godly man. The more we studied the designs of the past, we saw a similar pattern.

The beauty of colors, modest design and femininity give us clues.

The door is wide open for new types of fashions.

As “Today’s” Christian women,
how should we dress?
“Let it be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable (never going away) quality of a gentle and quiet spirit which is precious in the site of God"

There are multitudes of patterns or designs to express one’s own particular look.

A godly woman will find her own style as she follows scriptural guidelines.

~Mrs. Sodeberg~
a blessing to our class.

We had a “Designer” contest to create modest fashions and the
WINNERS ARE...

Miss Hutto, Miss Faith Anne and Mrs. McCord

"Introductory Gardening"

Our favorite “green thumb” teacher Mrs. Hutto taught basic gardening. We all wanted to hear more as our Titus 2 “Gardener” shared her charts, time tables and very organized advice on how to create specialized gardens for one’s own family. Afterwards seeds were passed out along with a desire to get digging!

Thank you Mrs. Hutto!
We learned much at our “Modest Tea” and “Gardening” class.

We had lovely fellowship and we hope you enjoyed our women of Titus two blog!

Our door is always open and we look forward to you visiting us again right here at Country Victorian!
May God Bless you as you endeavor to glorify God in every part of your life.Posted by Picasa
